Identity V: Tips for Survivors and Hunter

Hunter

Identity V (IDV for short) may seem identical to the iconic survival horror game Dead By Daylight because they both have survivors and hunters as opposing factions (DBD has killers instead). Some even call IDV a rip-off. However, in reality, the creators of Dead by Daylight collaborated with Netease and allowed the latter to use the former’s gameplay and structure.

Despite being similar, Identity V is considered more aesthetically pleasing because of the button-eyed IDV characters and offers more attractive skins and emotes for IDV characters than Dead by Daylight.

Identity V has exciting themes every season and often collaborates with shows such as Death Note, Persona 5, Bungou Stray Dogs, and Danganronpa. Although most of the items in the game are free and can be unlocked with extensive gameplay, many of the fun stuff is paywalled. If you want access to these exciting items, you can purchase echoes from the Identity V Top Up store for an affordable price.

Survivors VS Hunters

The IDV hunters and IDV survivors are two opposing factions, each with different purposes, abilities, and quirks. The setting of IDV is simple yet intriguing: hunters and survivors are locked in an arena filled with various obstacles, basically an extreme version of hide and seek. IDV also releases terrific limited-edition items every season. Latecomers of Identity V missed many fun survivor and hunter skins, trinkets, themed furniture, clues, fragments, and emotes. Thankfully, there are many IDV accounts for sale, all of which are filled with limited-edition treasures.

Tips For IDV Survivors:

As the names suggest, their ultimate purpose is survival. To win, the IDV survivors need to evade the hunter, solve the given ciphers, and escape the arena.

Interact with Ciphers: do not get lazy and only focus on escaping the hunter. If you do not try to fix the ciphers for a long time, crows will start flocking above your head, and it will alert the hunter.

Volume on: Some may not enjoy noise during gaming. However, in IDV, the slightest noise can make the difference between life and death. You’ll be able to hear the heartbeat and footsteps of the IDV hunters when they are nearby.

Distraction: if you see one of your teammates fixing ciphers, distract the hunter away from them and make them chase you.

Don’t save early: Do not try rescuing your teammate as soon as they are tied to the rocket chair. If you try rescuing them too early, you might die because the hunter is still nearby.

Communicate: Discord and other forms of communication are your best friends when you are a survivor. Always alert your teammates if you need healing, recurring, or distraction.

Tips For IDV Hunters:

Hunters hunt IDV survivors. They need to find and kill the survivors to win the game. IDV hunters are already at a disadvantage because they are working against four brains. However, once you master Hunting, you will be a terror in the arena.

Mark your victim: remember which survivor you tied to the chair. Each survivor can be healed only once. The next time you hit the same survivor, they will be eliminated from the game.

Look out for red: wounded IDV survivors leave behind red scratch marks on the ground. IDV Hunters can follow them to track their next victim.

Stay nearby: Once you have captured and tied a survivor to the chair, stay nearby and do not be distracted. Another survivor will come to rescue their teammate, and that will be a chance to incapacitate the unscathed survivor.

Mark ciphers: Choose two ciphers closest to each other and guard them carefully. When IDV survivors approach the marked ciphers, you can assassinate them.

Memorize the Map: You should have an excellent grasp of the Map. Always remember where the ciphers and exit gates are.

These tips and tricks will make your next IDV session more exciting, regardless of what role you play.
